The ranking is based on instagram followers, growth, engagement. The full list of skincare brands has 797 brands in total, this is just the top 30 of those. You can find a list with the top 100 on linkedin. We have updated this list monthly for almost two years. New brands are frequently added and if any brands that should be on this list seems to be missing we’re happy to let you know where they rank if on the extended list or add them for future months if they meet criteria.

This list is not the brands with the most followers, what I’m trying to measure is what brands are steadily growing and getting engaged attention. Brands that have unusually low engagement or brands that are loosing followers get a penalties in the algorithm, since it’s a negative indication. Having a lot of followers but no engagement might mean the brand bought followers or that followers really don’t care about the brand. A high rank on this list is an indication that the brand is growing, has an engaged customer base and a lot of potential.
